Every 2 or 3 days, a motorcyclist loses his life in an accident. It has always been a statistic, until someone I knew passed away in an accident a few days ago. How could it happen? He was a very experienced rider, a very safe one as well, and a driving instructor at Ubi Driving Centre. He was the last few I would expect to pass away in such a serious accident. It did not made sense. He would know more than any one else that the right turn at the junction is the biggest bike killer. And colliding with another bike? SO hard that the other rider passed away on the spot? How could AU be involved in so senseless an accident? I always knew deep down, that this day would come. When someone I knew would pass away in an accident, since the number of rider friends I knew have increased exponentially since joining MotoV riding group. But i never expected it too be this hard to accept. At AU's wake, I saw the faces of his family and friends, ashen and pale, huddled in tight circles in his house. I saw the body of the man, so fragile I could not recognise it to be one I spoke to only days earlier. I will always remember these sights for the rest of my life, just as we will always remember you to be the smiley man you always were, AU. Ride safe on your last journey, and rest in peace.

I never know when it may be my turn, but I've decided that riding and touring is my passion, and with that, i accept the risks inherent in riding, with the hope that safer riding will push back the eventuality of my passing away from an accident so far back, that I pass away of old age first. :)
Cherish your loved ones, live each day as your last, and to the fullest, so that its a life worthwhile, for we only have one chance, and we won't get another if we screw up the first time.
